Sewer Improvement Projects

Sewer Improvement Projects

SASD implements necessary infrastructure improvements to ensure the safe and reliable performance of the sewer system. This section provides information about current projects that may affect our customers.

Rosemont Pump Station

SASD’s Rosemont Pump Station is located on the north side of Kiefer Boulevard just west of South Port Drive (see map). It is one of 106 pump stations that SASD owns and operates. The aging station has civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural components that no longer meet SASD’s operating standards. As a result, a new pump station is now being built on the current site to replace the old equipment.

When complete, the Rosemont Pump Station will feature more efficient pumps and modern controls. The new station will also be safer for the maintenance crews who keep the station in good working order.

Ultimately, the project will allow SASD to continue to provide reliable sewer service for the community in the decades to come.

Project construction is underway. If all goes according to plan, the work is anticipated to be complete by summer 2019. Work hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Construction Impacts

As always, every effort will be made to minimize impacts to adjacent neighbors and the community. Typical impacts during these kinds of projects include noise, dust, vibration, and odor. Temporary traffic controls may be necessary during equipment delivery or when construction vehicles are accessing the site. Impacts will generally be limited to the immediate area surrounding the station.

No Interruption in Sewer Service

Construction will not interrupt sewer service, and street access to residents’ homes will be maintained at all times.

Safety First

For public and worker safety, access to the sidewalk near the pump station may be restricted from time to time. While most activities will occur inside the pump station, please use caution around the facility.
